The Adafruit 9×16 Charlieplexed LED Matrix is a compact grid of LEDs designed to be used with the IS31FL3731 Charlieplexed PWM LED Matrix Driver.

It features 144 LEDs arranged in a 9×16 layout using a charlieplexed configuration, allowing many LEDs to be controlled efficiently when paired with the correct driver board. This matrix is intended specifically for use with the Adafruit IS31FL3731 driver, which manages the multiplexing and PWM control needed to run the display.

The board itself does not include any resistors or driver circuitry — it is simply the LED array — so it cannot be used on its own. When combined with the matching driver, it can be used for creating animations, indicators, or small custom displays.

Revision History

• As of November 2022 – we've updated this PCB with Adafruit Pinguin to make a lovely and legible silkscreen - you may get the new PCB or the older version with vector fonts - both are identical other than the fancy silkscreen.
